Ricky (MIES) is an IES member (Illuminating Engineering Society) and serves on the committee for the Qld chapter. He has over 30 years of industry experience delivering technical lighting and creative solutions. Having a Cert IV in Business Sales mixed with entrepreneur skills, Light Harmony's future is in safe hands.
His lighting career started in the UK with Thorn and progressed as a lighting engineer where he completed the LIF (Lighting Industry Federation) UK certificate in lighting.
Ricky has held senior lighting positions with prominent lighting companies for design and specification assisting end users, consulting engineers, architects and contractors to procure their projects.
Past projects include the design and commissioning of the Al Qattara Football Stadium in the U.A.E for the televised Asian Cup, custom-tailored lighting solution for stage 1 of Gold Coast Light Rail, temporary solution for Buckingham Palace façade lighting for VJ day remembrance event.
Ricky is passionate about light with lateral thinking and motivates people with his knowledge and love of lighting, which gives him great satisfaction that the world is a better place with better light.
Ron (FIES) is a lifetime member of the IES (Illuminating Engineering Society) having joined since 1988 and RLP (registered Lighting Practitioner) since 2013.
Starting his career as an electrical engineer with BHP, he then found a love for lighting and attained proficiency in illumination design and engineering at Royal Melbourne institute of Technology, and certificate of applied science at Southbank TAFE.
He has held senior positions within key lighting companies including Philips, Thorn and contracted for Energex as a road lighting engineer.
From its inception in 1989, Light Harmony has become one of Brisbane's prominent specialist lighting consultancy businesses with clients around Australia & New Zealand.
Ron specializes in lighting design and engineering for public spaces, roadways, commercial centre's, industrial sites, major airports, obtrusive lighting control and illumination auditing. Past projects include Pat Rafter Arena, Brisbane Airport, BHP Billiton.
Ron is a conscientious designer with a vast knowledge and application of light.
Rick (Mlighting,Grad Dip Illum) is a creative and technical designer with a master's degree in lighting and is an IES member (Illuminating Engineering Society) and registered lighting practitioner. He is an expert practitioner of lighting with extensive knowledge and industry experience including, delivery of technical presentations, creative solutions, tunnels, busways, sports, architectural projects and daylight analysis. His career positions include Aecom, NDY and is also in independent designer and accomplished artist. Past projects include Moolloolabah Foreshore Revitalisation, City of Perth Facilities, Commonwealth Games Sports Facilities Indoor /Outdoor, Queensland Children's Hospital.
Rick has received many awards from the Lighting Society and regularly attends local and international conferences to present technical papers about lighting design techniques.
